We would like to thank everyone who came out to Medora to support us.  It was another success thanks to our neighbors, summer help, family and to those who went home with a purchase.

On August 12, 2012 we held our Annual Horse Sale in Medora, ND.  Selling that day were 44 Performance Horses, 24 weanlings, and 11 bred broodmares.   

The weekend started with a ranch horse competition on Saturday morning, which drew 22 participants showing their talent in a trail class, reining pattern and branding pen.  Lot 55, HR Ready Set Play owned by Turner Performance Horses, took first place.  Lot 33, Tee J Cowboy Moon owned by Neil Gerbig was awarded second place.  Tied for third place was Lot 88, Rambos Strait Doc, owned by Rita Hardy and Sperry Horses with Lot 92, Uncommon Spook. 

What a success it was combining the Invitational Consignment Sale with the Sperry offering for a one day event.  The performance horses averaged $7,195 and weanlings averaged $1,095 and bred broodmares averaged $1,665.  Not only did the hoses sell well, but a scholarship auctioned off in honor of Kyle “Bud” Sperry raised over $9,000.

Top Selling Performance Horses:

#1 was Lot 27, SHS Espuela Dinero consigned by Turner Performance Horses, going to Idaho

#2 was Lot 57, HM Jessies Top Gun consigned by Anchor Horses, selling to Terry Kitchens of Mullin, TX for $13,000.

#3 was Lot 56, Lonetree Latigo Joe consigned by Seth Weishaar, selling to Pete and Carol Rising of Wibaux, MT for $11,500.

Top 5 averaged:  $9,910

Top 10 averaged:  $7,940 

Top Selling Weanlings:

The highest selling foal was a brown stud colt out of Mia Dogface Cash, selling to Jon Ottun of Bighorn, MT for $2,500. 

The next highest selling foals brought $2,400 each, one out of Millie N Docs Oak selling to Curt Meyer of Plaza, ND and another foal out of Gun Too selling to Bill Kiefer of New Salem, ND.
